• Dr Aza Lymo - (ophthalmologist )

    Dr. Aza Lyimo is an ophthalmologist working as a tutor at the Tanzania Training Centre for International Health (TTCIH). He also works at St. Francis Referral Hospital ophthalmologist . He is a trainer of Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI) using IMCI computerised adaptation training tool (ICATT), a World Health Organization and Novartis Foundation initiative.

    He is a member of the e-Learning@TTCIH project, involved in developing and facilitating e-sessions for different courses at TTCIH. He’s also involved in developing micro-research projects under TTCIH and its partners.
    He attended medical school at Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS) in Dar es Salaam and completed in 2008. In 2010 he attended a research training fellowship in Ireland at the Trinity College Dublin and National University of Ireland Maynooth, where he trained on immunological laboratory research techniques and immunology of infectious diseases prevalent in the tropics.

    Dr. Aza attended training on Innovative Teaching Methodologies offered by Dalhousie University and training on Clinical Training Skills (CTS), a competence-based training offered by Jhpiego, an international non-profit health organisation, and the Tanzanian Ministry of Health. He also attended a micro-research training offered by Dalhousie University. In 2013 he joined MUHAS for Masters in ophthalmologist and completed in 2016 and joined back TTCIH as a tutor.
